Salo IT Solutions, Inc. (SaloITS) is a small independent research and development organization (IRDO). The company researches and develops advanced Internet technologies and solutions that are beneficial in wireless networks and networks that use the Internet protocols or compatible protocols. Many of these networks operate in demanding environments, such as large-scale, wide-area, environmental monitoring networks, hydrologic warning networks, wireless sensor networks, mobile ad hoc networks, space networks, and tactical networks.

SaloITS was founded in 2000 by Timothy J. Salo, its president and owner. The company began aggressively pursuing Federal and commercial research and development contracts in August 2004. In August 2005 the company moved into offices near the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis, a location which facilitates collaborations with faculty members, and provides access to graduate student labor.
